Case Study

  • A global billion-dollar prestige beauty brand chose to partner with Pagemark for their Diversion Solution while the company was in their infancy stage. With Pagemark’s technology and support throughout the supply chain, this brand has expanded manufacturing and distribution of luxury hair products across major industrialized countries from North America to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. This partnership allowed the brand to capitalize and rely on protected distribution, which ultimately, solidified their reputation in the beauty market, growing their brand and product line into a household name.

  • As demand started to increase globally, the brand owners quickly became aware that they were being targeted more consistently by bad actors with intent to defraud their products, primarily through diversion within the supply chain, or distribution of counterfeit products. As is common for most successful brand owners in the prestige beauty market, they were losing significant profits as a result of diversion alone. Beside monetary losses, risk to brand credibility and losing prestige with their target customers needed a solution.

  • The Pagemark Diversion solution has been operating with this brand for over six years.  Initially, only covering the manufacturing facilities in the US, Pagemark now supports implementation integrated with global 3rd Party Logistics provider (3PL’s), and has expanded to their largest distributor partners. With Pagemark’s technology and coordination, this brand now has more control and confidence over their distribution channels. Pagemark personnel, in coordination with the brand owner’s teams, are continuing working together towards scaling their distribution and increasing profits.

    • A hidden serialized number in each QR code, called Pelta™ codes, are included in every unit product, master case, and pallet, using a tiered hierarchy system and are tracked via the Pagemark Track and Trace solution from the contract manufacturer to 3PL to distributor.  End customers can also scan the QR code, which provides assurance of authenticity of the product.

    • Pagemark provides a range of coding solutions using scanners and/or camera system tailored to the packaging and capabilities of the contract manufacturer.

    • Pagemark Diversion solution provides end-to-end visibility of all products leaving warehouses and are tracked from contract manufacturer to the major distribution locations and beyond.

    • Pagemark has worked with a variety of distributor partners to include product tracking as they leave from their facilities.  As all distributors are different, the implementation is customized on a case-by-case basis to provide aggregating shipping information, whether it be utilizing outbound scanners, or by tracking shipping information forwarded from their ERP systems.

    • The Pagemark solution has built-in mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance with scanning requirements of the brand.

    • While Pagemark supplies a compressive solution, Pagemark also works with emerging brands seeking a low barrier to entry solution.
